22/04/2013 Winners announced for Great South West Dairy Awards

A farming couple effective and proactive in their employment systems have won the top dairy industry award in south-west Victoria.

Across all categories there were 65 nominations, plus more than 60 photos entered in the best farm photo competition.

The awards were presented before a sell-audience of nearly 330 people. This was the eighth time the awards have been presented.

21/02/2013 Finalist list shortened to 21 for 2013 Great South West Dairy Awards

Twenty one finalists from across the region will compete for the 2013 Great South West Dairy Awards.
The winners will be announced at Glenormiston College on Friday April 19.
There were 65 nominations across all award categories for 2013 along with more than 60 photos submitted for the best farm photo competition.
The finalists have been announced after a pre-judging process which eliminated some nominations that did not fit the criteria. Some of the nominees also decided not to proceed with a formal application.
10/01/2013 Nominations Sought for Great South West Dairy Awards

The Great South West Dairy Awards hope to hit a century in 2013.
A record 80 nominations plus more than 60 farm photos were received for the awards in 2012 and organisers are aiming to top that mark in 2013.
Nominations open on January 15 and close on February 17. The award categories include Employer of the Year, Employee of the Year, Share Farmer of the Year, National Resource and Sustainability Manager of the Year, Young Farm Leader of the Year and Farm Photo of the Year.Nominations are also being sought for the Western Victorian Dairy Industry Honour Board.The awards, now in their eighth year, will be presented at the Glenormiston Collee on April 19.

26/04/2012 Four New Inductees for Dairy Industry Honour Board

Four men who have made major contributions to the dairy industry in south-west Victoria will join the Western Victorian Dairy Industry Honour Board.

The new inductees, the late Hec Fisher, Rob Leishman, Basil Ryan and Graeme Ward, were announced tonight at the Great South West Dairy Awards at Glenormiston.

The winners were announced tonight at a Gala Awards Night at Glenormiston College before a capacity audience of 330.

30/03/2012 Finalists Announced for Great South West Dairy Awards

Twenty five dairy farmers from between Heywood and Deans Marsh will compete for the 2012 Great South West Dairy Awards.

The finalists for the five major awards have been announced after organisers received a record 80 nominations. A further 20 photos have been shortlisted from more than 60 entries in the Gardiner Foundation Best Dairy Farm Photo competition.

Project manager Barbara Collins said the quantity and quality of nominations continued to increase every year.

The first group of inductees was announced at the Great South West Dairy Awards in 2011 and they will be formally inducted at the 2012 gala night when the organisers of the event hope to add new names to the list.
