Project:
"Down the Track - Dairy 2020"
"DTT"
formerly known as SWD2017
The Down the Track - Dairy 2020 project is a six month project that will develop a strategic direction for the south-west dairy industry. During the project the team will provide five issue-specific discussion papers, a series of regional workshops and a final summit which will develop the direction, goals and strategies to aim for..
"The strategy will provide a well supported direction for the next decade for Victoria's south-west dairy industry. It will provide better levels of understanding and cooperation among the parts of the regions dairy industry, resulting in greater innovation, better cooperation and a boost to a sustainable farming and processing sector"*.
A $45,000 grant to establish and complete the project was announced on Tuesday 24th June by the State Government.
WestVic Dairy will develop the direction in consultation with over 500 district farmers, milk processors, shires and other regional agencies. "All areas of the industry will be addressed, people, finances, markets and resources, and in doing so the plan will open up a variety of issues we will need to manage in the next 10 years"**
Workshops were held to combine ideas at the following locations.
