Careers Co-ordinator
WestVic Dairy is excited to welcome our new Dairy Careers Coordinator Robyn Vale funded by your levy, who will work towards improving the image of “dairy” as a career and the community in Western Victoria understanding that dairy can provide many great opportunities.
It Has been brought to WestVic Dairy's attention that:
- Too many people don't want to take on dairy as a career
- They can't get the kids interested
- Schools don't promote agriculture as a career choice like they do mechanics or building
- Teachers don't think highly of dairy farming so don't push it as a popular choice and often actively discouraged kids from agriculture
Robyn will address some of the concerns above and promote the vast and diverse career pathways in the Dairy Industry to students and schools across the south west.
